    Phonecasting Goes Live

Call from your mobile phone - or any phone, record your own episode content, create a channel phone number, offer it to 3.5 billion cell phone subscribers worldwide, and you're phonecasting.

"Phonecasting, in essence, is like MySpace and YouTube all rolled up into one." said Michael Sharp, founder and CEO of Phonecasting.com which is targeting organizations and individuals interested in creating and distributing audio for mass consumption.

"Because of the now-realized convergence between wireless mobile and the Internet, publishers now have a low cost, broad spectrum medium, with the capacity to globalize, mobilize and monetize on-demand viral audio and video distribution."

The program directory already has more than 10,000 items including National Geographic News (415) 223-4135; "We’re Talking Elvis" with your host DJ Fontana (650) 523-6817; and iPhone News (510) 495-6368.

Pay For Parking Using Cell Phones

The Park-by-Phone service by Clancy Systems looks like the start of a new trend that's really convenient. After signing up at Park-By-Phone, to pay for your parking, just call 888-310-PARK from your cell phone and enter the lot or meter number, which are visibly marked on bright yellow signs at participating parking facilities.

You can remotely add more time to a parking meter that is about to expire by calling the toll-free number or accessing the web site.

A monthly bill via e-mail or regular mail lets you pay once for a month of parking and receive a detailed expense record.

The program is available in nine states in the U.S. and in Puerto Rico. Participating parking companies include System Parking.
